I just sleep, forever (Rosalia Lombardo)

They call me the Sleeping Beauty. Actually, I was Rosalia Lombardo, I died when I was only two. My father couldn't bear to lose me, so I rest in my glass coffin in the catacombs of the monastery. The doctor cast a spell on me to live forever, because I wasn't allowed to sleep away. But still, I just sleep, forever, as if I had never left. Poet's note. Rosalia Lombardo died at the age of only two of the Spanish flu and was embalmed in Sicily, where she still rests.

I was a man and not God (Lenin)

I never thought I would live forever after my horrible end but I thought  that something like that might happen that my body would be preserved for generations to come in that strange communist church. I was a man and not God, not an object of worship. That's what I objected to. But that's what I became for years, until they no longer knew what to do with me until I fall into pieces and there's no use for me anymore. A note from the poet. Vladimir Lenin still lies in his mausoleum.

As my last wish

As my last wish, I asked my friend to destroy my writings, but he didn't follow my wish. I am more famous than ever, the idol of all strange people. And I only wrote about the world as I saw it, strange and frightening. But I wasn't alone. That was a surprise. A poet's note. Franz Kafka is one of the most famous writers.

My best role

When I died, of course people mourned the great Valentino, none of them knew Rodolfo, me. They mourned their dreams, their youth. My death came as a surprise to me too. I was amazed to see the hysteria caused by my death, why? I was really just a poor boy from Italy, a waiter and a gigolo, but my best role was Rudolph Valentino, the Latin lover. A note from a poet. Rudolph Valentino was one of the first great movie stars.
