Then just a dark night (River Phoenix)

I just wanted to play the guitar,
but it was the last,
dark night of my life
on the Boulevard of Broken Hearts,
when I wasn't even supposed to party.
It was the night my innocence was gone,
and when I didn't think my life would end,
but they couldn't hold my heart anymore.
Then just a dark night.

Poet's Note. Actor River Phoenix died of an overdose at a nightclub on Sunset Boulevard.

Even a giant's heart gets tired (Andre the Giant)

I died on the way to my father's funeral, which became mine. The giant was dead. I am best remembered for drinking a hundred beers at once, but then,  I was a giant. But even a giant's heart gets tired. A Poet's Note. Andre the Giant, actually André René Roussimoff, was a French show wrestler known for his exceptionally large size.
